For many it has been a tough and challenging year and some have experienced all kinds of difficulty in their lives. While it's natural to feel distressed and distraught, there is a stronger urge within all of us to bounce back and recover.

Resiliency and a strong self-belief go hand in hand. Regardless of the situation, when you believe in your ability to succeed, you will develop the courage and enthusiasm needed to stretch beyond any challenge.

No doubt when you think of the challenges of the past, you realise that it's not just about merely surviving, but about growing stronger and wiser as a result.

When you stay focused on your vision, challenges won't stop you they will only slow you down.

1 People seem to naturally pull together no matter how tough a situation may be. Recent flooding shows no matter how little money people have or how difficult their own lives may be they have time to help others, a good example being the aid which took the form of crop which was sent down the country to devestated farms The strong sense of community spirit is something that resonates across the country and makes me very proud to be Irish.

2 The current recession has impacted on Ireland more than most other countries. It is in times of challenge that the character of a nation is tested. New opportunities suddenly become apparent . As a country Ireland has the talent and the spirit to seize and develop these opportunities. The people of Ireland will enmerge much stronger and more in control of their future.
