Sinéad Duffy of Great Minds Ltd. Monaghan was guest speaker at a function organised by Women in Business group Network Louth. Sinead’s address, entitled “Jumping out of bed in the Morning” dealt with the real challenges facing people in business and how to remain focused, energised and inspired in 2009.
We as individuals have all the necessary resources to deal with the current challenges facing us. It is how we respond to the challenges that matters most. Accept what has changed and change what is changeable.
Sinéad said “we rise to challenges, they make us act and will grow from having the experience. If there’s a problem we must fix it, if there’s and illness we must cure it and if there’s a recession we will recover.”
Adaptability is the key, be open minded, consider the alternatives. Sinéad stated that creativity is not the sole preserve of the artist or musician and provided insights on how to develop the skill of creative thinking.
“Goal setting have never been more important. Set goals that move your business towards success and not away from failure. If you set a goal to get through the recession, I’m sure you will but I’m sure you want to thrive”.
Sinéad offered the following advice “Invest in yourself and your people. Your fixed assets won’t take you in the direction you need to go. Your creativity and talent will. Cultivate that resource.
